Three easy steps

for a smaller file size, changed dimensions, added text and relevant Exif tags.

  1. Dimensions setting
  2. Contrast improvement
  3. Text addition

There are presettings for the dimensions. Step 2 and Step 3 are optional. You can choose between four fonts without frills and four different font sizes. The lettering is always horizontal. Existing Exif tags are deleted. Optionally thumbnails are generated.

That's all.Classic image processing, batch processing or artistic special effects are not included. Photo enlargement is definitely not possible anyway.

However if the photo is large enough, a section can be created as an image instead of the entire photo being reduced in size.

Step 1: Dimensions setting

Important note on handling: The sliders can be activated with the mouse and then fine-tuned with the left and right arrow keys.

The outer measurements of the image can be set easily by presets for ratio and width and you can go to step 2 (presets menu bar button).

With sliders for width and height, these values can also be set freely («image width», «image height»).

The display size of the photo can then be adjusted («photo width»).

The display size of a photo on the screen must not exceed the actual size, otherwise the pixels are not sufficient. If you want to create an image section, the dimensions of the image must be smaller than the original dimensions of the photo.

You can detect this easily from the position of the «photo width» . If it can be dragged to the right scope is available, else you have to select a smaller preset.

Next you bring the scaled photo in the right position by means of the scrollbars inside the image. You can vary measurements and position easily until you are satisfied with the result.

With the lower slider you can change the angle of the image. If necessary you cut then the slanted edges by creating a cropping.

Step 2: Contrast improvement

This step is optional. A slider can be used to improve the contrast. Changes are displayed directly.

Step 3: Text adding

This step is also optional and covers two areas.

Image text

You can enter text for two fields. The text will be displayed as soon as you enter it.

Next the text can be set in position with drag & drop. Or it can be set in the horizontal and vertical center by means of a dropdown menu.

Exif tags

Optionally the date of the original is taken over, all other Exif tags are not. (Exif-Tag: Exif.Image.DateTimeOriginal).

Keywords can be added to the image (and the copies) and are stored under the Exif tag Exif.Photo.UserComment. The tag can be used for order and search purposes. Maximal length is 80 characters.

File types

JPEG and PNG file types are supported when opening files. JPEGs are saved. PNGs do not support exif tags.

App folders

In the Windows picture folder the folder «WebPhotoDesigner» and its the subfolders "In" and "Out". are created and used.

The feature is enabled by default, but can be disabled in the settings. Already generated folders can be deleted. Please check if the subfolders are empty first. After the feature is activated the folders will be created if missing.

Photos inside the in-folder will be displayed as thumbnails after using the Open button. You can either fill the in-folder or replace it with another folder renamed accordingly.

The newly created images are saved in the out-folder. If the feature is disabled, a dialog box appears for saving.
